Strawberry Cream Puffs

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 pieces puff pastry

  • Intense Strawberry Spread

  • Egg wash (1 egg + 1 tbsp water)

  • 1 cup thickened cream

  • 2 tbsp icing sugar, or more to taste

  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)

  • Icing sugar

  • Fresh strawberries

METHOD
  1. Preheat oven to 190ºC.

  2. Cut out heart shapes in the puff pastry. Repeat but use a smaller heart cutter to hollow out the inside.

  3. Top each hollowed puff pastry on top of each full heart and poke holes in the bottom.

  4. Brush with egg wash and bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. While baking, whisk together thickened cream and icing sugar to make whipped cream.

  6. Once cooled, fill each pastry with Intense Strawberry Spread, whipped cream and top with additional Strawberry Spread or fresh strawberries.

  7. Dust with icing sugar and enjoy!
